Default Best place for a ground

I've done lots of searching and can't come up with a solution so I am going to ask away. I have installed in INfinity Basslink II in my tC and when I turn the volume up the subwoofer cuts out. I have had many opinions on the matter and some people say that I should be running a High-Low RCA converter rather than the speaker line level inputs and others say it could be a bad ground. Before I go and tear my HU out and install something that I may not need, I would like everyones opinion on where the best place to ground is. I have mine ground on the driver's side, right up next to the brake light. I don't have a camera right now, but if I get a hold of one, I'll take some pics.

Thanks!

for my ground, i just used my child restraint hook bolts behind the back seat into a distributor for my grounds. it sits there and i have had any problems with my amp in regards to grounding. and to be honest, either way id still run a LOC instead of using the speaker level inputs. the reason i suggest doing this instead is because if you ever choose to upgrade the RCA run will already be there and you dont have to worry about your next amp having speaker level ins as well; simply put: flexibility :D

hope this helped and good luck!

i had this problem once, it was my remote wire. I didnt have it hooked up to a true 12 volts only 9 or something close to (its been awhile), so when i turned up the vol the sub would cut out, the amp cant work if it does not have the correct volts coming into it, once i change the source of my remote to a good 12V it work with out a problem
