so what keeps it up weird.. some shift sticks have like a lil bump so it cant slip down with out being pulled..

umm cuz the extension of the **** meets up with the silver round piece of the boot, cuz they where made for each other

as there two obx shift ***** auto and manual or is it a universal to fit both?

 

I hated the way that shiftknob looked when I installed my short throw..I cut down the boot some and rolled it over the base of the ****, so the boot stretched up and the only thing sticking up was the circle part of the ****.

 

this is what the OBX shift ***** consist of.

1. shift ****
2. shif stick threading piece.
3. manual transmission extender (like the one that is on my boot right now)
4. automatic extender ( looks like the metal part of the stock **** on the auto tc's)
5. allan wrench
6. 1,2,3,4,5,R square plate ( the size of dime that lets you stick it to the change holder lid or above the entire boot by the cig lighter)

lol i knew i had this pic somewhere, dont mind the dog hahaha, but you can see just how short my shifter is......

 

what i did was heat the plastic insert, and slipped it low on the stick, kind of counter sunk effect, and then threaded the **** on and it will come to about that low if u do it right.

 

well went down today and got a new boot, i found out the other day that my current boot had 2 small tears in it, made me very mad, also got a new obx speed star mesh ****
since mine was chipping on the top and had minor scratches on the bottom....

 

whoa i just opened the ****'s box and found out instead of a plastic adapter it has a new metal one

 

oh and the top of the **** it doesnt say "OBX" its just plain
