Boot Swap Out (pics)
I decided to make this a somewhat how to thread. Most of you know my car is an Automatic! and that I have done a boot conversion to make it look like a Manual. This thread is basically to show those of you that hava automatic how easy it is to take out the PRND321 plate out and swap for a boot, even tho i already had a boot on my car, its the same basic steps.
Anyways, I recentyl found out that my current boot had some slight tares in it, so I bought a new one to swap out.
Also I bought a new OBX **** due to my old one chipping on the top. Some have asked why it sits lower on the stick than others and I will esxplain in this thread why.
Enough talk, here is the write up.
This is the old boot and ****, the tares were where the red dot is
Took the **** off and what do you see? The adapter for the ****, you can see its sitting lower than the thread( I heated it and slipped it on low to give a short shifter look)
This is the new adapter for the new ***** (Metal)
OK, pull on the sides of the center console(where you see my hand) gently, should pop out like this.
Now the shifter is exposed
New boot pops in here on the underside with some clips (4 total)
Slip the center back onto the stick with the boot attached
Now for the new ****
You can work with the **** base and the boot base to get a nice seal like this
Distance shots
And thats basically it!
