Default buncha audio system questions

hey everyone. i'm about to start work on a system for my tc, and i could use some input.

i'm putting an infinity kappa perfect 10 sub in the trunk...that's pretty much all i know so far...here are my questions:

1. What amp should I get? i want an amp that will fit in the storage space to the right of the spare tire, beneath the floor. i need it to power both my sub, and my front speakers.

2. Should I bother with the rear speakers? I've seen people say on the forums that they only put a component system upfront, and don't even bother with the back 2 speakers because you can't hear them anyway. True?

3. What speakers should I get? I had Infinity Kappas in my last car, and I loved them. But according to crutchfield, the Infinity Reference speakers will fit, but not the kappas. True? And again, should I bother with the rear speakers?

4. If I do bother with the rear speakers, should I get component setups for both the front AND rear? Or components for the front, and just two speakers for the rear?

5. Any suggestions on headunits? I've never owned anything but Pioneer receivers, and I've never had any problems with any of them, so I'll most likely be sticking with Pioneer....But I'd to be able to control my ipod through the headunit, and the more customizable the EQ is the better.

Also, it may help you to know that I listen primarily to rock music. I know alot of people that get into car stereo systems optimize their stuff to sound good with electronic (i.e. rap, techno, hip hop) music. I just want warm mids, crisp (but not shrill) highs, and a nice thump in my chest when the bass drum hits.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

1. I say go with a good 4 channel amp, or if you have a lot of money... a good 5 channel amp to power both speakers and subs. Eclipse has really good stuff, but a little bit pricey... also, edesigns has very good stuff.

2. I wouldn't go all out in the rear, but I would atleast take the stock junk and put in something with some power.

3. My opinion, memphis audio. I have 300 watt memphis audio components, and I absoultely LOVE them. They have all the power, mid range, and mid bass you will ever want in speakers. Infinity has really good components.

4. You don't really need components in the back, since you will be hearing most of the music from the front, just don't put anything poopy in the back.

5. The headunit is probably where it will create the best sound at, so you will want something very clean sounding. Pioneer is very well known for their headunits. I also do like Eclipse, but again, they're a little bit pricey, but very well worth the money. Kenwood is also another good brand. Eclipse models cd3100 and up are ipod ready.

i was considering this amp:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7iflc7Z...=108R5350A#Tab

it's 9 inches wide, which is just a tiny bit wider than that space under the floor, but i'm thinking i could wedge it in there, since that foam stuff is sort of pliable. sound like a good idea?

^ If you want an Infinity amp, then save youself $100 and just get this model instead. Use two channels high-pass to run front components, with the other two channels bridged and low-passed for your sub. Either go without rear speakers (recommended), or leave the stock rear speakers alone and use the HU to power them at a very low volume if you must.
