every so often while im driving my car i get this smell in it like plastic is burning then i think its b.c the cars brand new but i had the car for like 3 months it got 4k on it so i dunno if its b/c everything is breaknig in or something is wrong... some1 please help me if u have or had the same problem thanks

 

I got the same smell during the first few months of owning the car. I haven't smelled it since for 2-3 months or more. It's just the plastic breaking in.

 

I had a smell like that on my old car. It was a shopping bag that got melted onto my exhaust piping. Took several months to burn off til the smell went away. Check yours out.

 

I recently have noticed the same smell. I have had my car for a year now and just recently started smelling the burnt plastic smell. The weird thing is I dont notice it every time, just every once and a while...

 

Any result to this thread? i'm having a burning smell in my car right now too, I have 19K on it though

 

i have ~23k miles and i dont smell the burning plastic anymore.
