Default Component Upgrade

So I am about to purchase the SQ10 Enclosure for my Scion and was wondering which Components upgrade for my TC would be better?

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 or the EDi 6500?

Also what kind of amplifier would work the best to power those components? I was looking at some Rockford & Alpine Amps, as well as ED.

I just got my AVIC-D3 installed so getting kinda itchy to upgrade everything else inside. I listen to a lot of Rap and wanted to replace the stock stuff and get something with decent bass and nice sound.

if you like bass the sq10 really isn't for you. you'd be better stepping up to a 11kv.2 or a 13kv.2 or even a 11ov.2 or a 13ov.2 it really depends on your budget. good luck on finding 6500's. last i talked to chris @ eD they had 5 sets of them left.

Have you had a chance to listen to either of those sets? I used to run the perfects and I thought they were very harsh.

No, my friend at work has the Infinity's and he said he likes them but they don't give off a whole lot of bass and said to get a sub.

Do the edi's produce any kind of bass (comparing to the stock speakers)

yes but its not going to replace the bass from a subwoofer. the ed 6500's have good midbass but like i said i think you'll have a very hard time getting a hand on some

neither speaker is really going to give you any true bass just mid bass. I would just suggest getting a sub along with the speakers.

I have the kappa perfects and I really like them. I have them running off of an old Orion HCCA 425.

Would the Infinity REF475A Amp be just fine for powering the Perfects?

Should I even bother with the rear speakers??

And I am most likely getting 2 SQ10's to go in the rear, my friend is building a custom box for me.

Yeah that would do the job. I would just run front speakers and bridge that 4 ch into the two speakers.

I have never been a big fan of the infinity amps though. I would look at an eclipse amp or something a little better then the infinity if you are going to spend that kind of money on your speakers.
