Focal 165krx2, but if you don't have the money. ED FTW

Hertz 165 are really good for half the price.
Just throwing you some options.

As I state over and over when a thread like this comes up, go to an audio shop (not Best Buy!) and 'listen'
to some components. That's what I did and the Polk Components were mine. Are you looking to replace the
front and rear speakers? If so, you'd better up your 'budget' to at least $500.

What amp are you getting and how much is it?
If you answer that, then people will know how much you intend to spend on components.

Doesn't look like that'll be much $ at all, likely best to just go ahead with eD since you don't really have enough for anything better.

dont bother getting rear speakers its unnecessary. In my car I have eD e3.65 components in the front and an SQ10 sub in the trunk. Both the components and the amp are run off of a single NINe.4 amp, and it sounds great. I had planned on leaving the stock speakers hooked up in the rear but ended up disconecting them because I couldn't even hear them and when I did it just muddled the sound. If you tune your system right, you dont need speakers in the rear. A lot of people who ride in my car are shocked when I tell them that I don't have speakers in the rear, the sub in the trunk maintains feel of being surrounded by sound. Just get the e3.65s, I'm not sure what the difference is between these and the e9s... but the e3s are cheaper :-)

^ You could, but it won't sound good without some work. The rear side panel isn't an adequate baffle for sub frequencies, so you won't get good bass if you just put them in the stock location using a mounting adapter. For them to produce useful bass, you'd need to build an actual enclosure inside the sidepanels, of the appropriate size & type for those specific subs.

^ No, you don't have to use an external amp, but they'll sound MUCH better and be clearer at loud volume with an amp. You can always start with HU power then add an amp to power them later. Either way, use a high-pass filter at around 80Hz (not sure, but your HU likely has a setting for it), as keeping the bass out of them will certainly help SQ, use a sub for the frequencies below that.

dude the RMS for eD comps is 150W. Now I'm only pushing ~90W using my NINe.4 and its more than enough for me, but you aren't going to be delivering nearly enough power with just the head unit, you should seriously consider amping your comps.

I take offense to the Best Buy comment stated above. I am the lead installer there and have been for a while. We may not have Focal, JL audio, Kicker and things like that. But I am much more knowledgeable than the other custom car audio shops in my area.

i agree with mattieg, even though im a former roadshop installer, bestbuy has recently shown a committed interest in their car audio department. i hear they may land kicker pretty soon. speaking of which RS Components are the way to go. thats wut i have.
