Components Up Front
Ok, i searched around and found nothing on this, if it is a repat sorry.
Has anyone actually installed component speakers up front?
1. What was mounting depth for midrange.
2. Did you use an MDF baffle, if so, HOW..
3. Rear speakers are 6.5.. right? I have heard 5.25 and 6.5 Mounting depth there?
And anyone with Subs
1. Does the hatch rattle bad??
And anyone with amp install
1. Decent grounding area in rear hatch? Id rather not drilly too many new holes... Any ground loop noies?
I have a pile of equipment that is just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit around here to install. Any help would be appreciated. I already saw the threads on "gutting a tC" and removing the door panel.
-Thanks

I haven't done anything in the tC since I've only had it for two days, but my feeling is that it's always good to use MDF baffles to cut down on resonance. When I did my baffles, I had them cut by a guy I knew who had a router. I also sealed them so they wouldn't crack in the summer heat here in Vegas. It looked like this in my Civic Si.
I also sealed any holes in the doors with sound deadening material, but I'm not sure I'll go that far with this car. It was a big pain in the ___.

the main reason no one is responding is because you posted in the wrong section......should have went to electrical and interior........you have to drill out the middle of the rivets of the stock brackets, make a ring from the template that comes with your speakers...and mount them....
hatch rattles a bit.....if you can hear it, add more bass......
grounded to the base of the rear seat......no noise....

Not sure...I have eDi 6500s in there now, 2.8" depth

Yes. Drill the rivets on the stock speaker and trace the triangle shape. Then draw your mounting hole in the center. Cut out the center hole, then the outside triangle. Now line up the triangle w/ your door, use charcoal inside the door to mark where the holes should be and drill. Bolt the baffle do the door and you're done.

Yes, they appear to be the same as the front. Not sure on mounting depth because they're still in my car ;)

2 13kv.2's from eD and a Tsunami db1800T. Yes....it does now ;)

Currently I use the piece of metal my spare tire bolt goes into. Yes, not the best locatoin, but it works great and no ground noise.

hehe....I see you've read my thread already. When I get time, there will be a more thorough one coming out. Been rather busy the last two months as I'm moving out of state in 2 weeks, but then I'll have more time.
Anything you need to know, PM me.
