i'll trade ya ;) my d3 took a crap on me yesterday and had to order a new one.....

it sounds like a wire maybe disconnected incorrectly or a fuse is blown; check out avic411.com under the 'd-series' because there's been a few who've had the issue

This is why I don't want to wire things up myself, because if it doesn't work correctly and you can't find an answer through search, you have to wait until someone who knows sees this tread and want to post the perfect, legible answer for you go back and hopefully fix.

the general concensus (sp) on avic411 is to disconnect your battery for about 3-5 min and re-connect and it will shut off

check your hvac connection, mine did that a time or two and it was the harness was not in all the way, same exact thing yours is doing.

when headlights are off it works hmmm it definately sounds like a wire is incorrect because if the lights are off then the head unit is doing the default lighting rather than the auto-dimming from when the headlights/parking lights are on.

if you did the parking brake bypass, you may have connected it to the dimmer wire, rather than the 12+switched
