It depends on the individual, and there's a slight downside, due to increasing the weight of the vehicle, especially worth considering if it's added everywhere and in multiple layers.

If you're really interested in sound quality, especially if you're considering SQ competition, then yes, it's definitely worthwhile.

Many people wind up adding at least a little in certain areas (such as the doors), not necessarily to reduce road noise, but to damp vibrating panels.

In the event you want it for the sole purpose of reducing road noise, then an all-over application would be best (gut the car and do ALL the panels), and you have to be very thorough. Even a small pinhole can let in a LOT of noise, through an otherwise adequately damped panel.

It effectively did nothing for me. I'm hoping it will keep my car from rattling apart when the sub goes in (FINALLY!) sometime later this week, when my box gets here.

Zebman, did you do the doors and under the back panels (where the stock rear speakers are)?

Deadening the tC is a night + day difference. Gut the interior. Use your knuckles to knock on all the panels to find out which ones need the most damping. We did the floor, doors, rear 1/4 panels, trunk area, etc.

This is a good read:

i'm in the middle of deadening my car while im on spring break this week. so far-

2 layers on the hatch floor/rear part of the back wheel wells.
3 layers on the rear quarter panels (those panels are flimsy!)
2 layers on the hatch lid in the areas that i could reach.

tommorow i do the floor and the doors.

Yes, 3 layers. That picture was in the middle of the project. I think I would have benefited much more had I layered my front doors. But my dad, who in his 54 years has learned anything and everything, refused to let me put it into my doors, saying that rainwater and the elements would cause it to fall off. He may be right, but I still wish I had done it. My door panels buzz.

The glue used on these products is designed and optimized for the automotive environment, (heat, cold, moisture, etc.) and hold up over the lifespan of the car. Have you ever tried pulling it off?!? Needless to say, it's a b!tch.

Doing the door panels is a major improvement...they vibrate a LOT!

One rainy day i'll pull it off again, replace all the white clips i broke, then put more on the inner panel. I have at least 60sq.ft. of eDead v1SE sitting in my garage.

To clarify: I'm suggesting you put it on the reverse side of the exterior/painted surface of your car.
