Default did a lil interior painting!! UPDATE NEW COMPLETED PICS!!!

like the title states i painted some interior pieces. the color is medium blue from dupli-color. i like the color but for some reason the piece next to the steering wheel around the switch blanks and the gauge cluster came out a lighter blue than everything else. i'm not sure why it did that but i'll have to fix it.i also plan to paint the center waterfall around the radio and HVAC.

first a close to show the color

tell me your opinions and please if anybody knows why those 2 pieces came out lighter let me know so i can fix them.

Not my cup of tea but the painting looks pretty good besides the ones you pointed out. Maybe not enough sanding? Are they clear coated?

no sanding, and no clear yet on any of the pieces. i'm gonna see how i like it before i go and clear it. everything looks good in person except those 2 pieces which i will have to respray i guess. i still don't understand why those 2 came out weird when i did the exact same thing to all of them.

Not my cup of tea either, however good job painting it. I'd rather see those parts paint matched to the vehicle!

well... i'm pretty sure i like it. i just need to see it in the sunlight. it's not like i can go back now can I? could i maybe just use paint thinner or paint and decal remover to get it all back off if i ended up wanting to?

the plan was to go with a whole bunch of blue. like blue leds and maybe some seat covers that have some blue in them as well.

3large containers acetone paint stripper, a metal bucket, latex gloves (3 per hand) and a few good rags will get it off quick. just be sure not to dump the used acetone in any type of plant......

i fixed the 2 pieces that came out lighter and am also painting a few other pieces. i'll post the pics when it's done drying and put back in the car. i think it looks good though. the paint is obviously blue but it has some nice silver flake in it.

Default NEW COMPLETED PICS!!

now that it's all done I am 100% satisfied with it. i think it is a little wild but I'm wild and I like it like that. it's a really cool blue in person, different lights make it look lighter or darker and it has a bunch of silver flake in it. i really love how the blue looks again of silver in the center.

well here they are. i hope i don't get as much crap now that it's all completed

also in your grilles next to the handle you put on too thick of coats so it filled in some of the grille holes. kinda SOL with that one but you need to make sure you do nice and long swipes with the paint can

the door sills i fixed, they don't look like that anymore, neither does the gauge cluster, or the switch panel below the left vent. that all looks even and the same shade now.

and i'm not sure why the edges look like that where the 2 pieces in the center meet. and the tweeter grille you can tell unless your looking at it very very closely. oh and the tweeter grille things looks like that cause i messed up on that by touching it to early before the paint was 100% dry so i sprayed paint remover on it and tried to start over. but like you said some of the holes filled in a bit.

so the only thing i really need to and can fix is the corners your pointing out in the second pic.

and i promise you it looks better in person especially in daylight. i myself am a perfectionist as well so.

If you like it then thats all that matters. IMO it just does not fit. It looks like parts from a completely different car.

A for effort.
That being said, you should have just done the gauge shroud and the center console. I think all the other pieces look outta place. But, thats just my opinion. It's your car so if you are happy with it then thats all that really matters.
