Blue is a weird color in cars.........kill off the rest of the silver stock pieces and do the cloth in the doors to match.bring a piec painted into the store and pick the correct shade of blue to go.......pull out the headliner and take it black cloth..........this will balance out the interior..........remember black is the neutral..........blue is the accent.........silver is tacky with blue and black.........

Put together several interiors in cars and it will work if you go a bit farther and pull it together all the way.........

Also what color is the car.............

thanks, i plan to do more interior work in the future so maybe it'll look better then. the only problem i see with killing all the silver is that the bottons in the hvac will still be silver so i figured i'd leave the center alone. the car is flint mica.

here are a couple daytime pictures w/o the camera flash.

I personally would of gone with Black with a clear but none the less, props for doing it and it doesnt look bad. The color isnt a bad choice either just not for interior IMO.

It looks like you did a good job on the prep work and the masking, I don't see any flaws at least. I think most people just don't dig the color. If you like the color, keep it.

If you want to change it again, you probably can't go back to stock. Acetone and most strippers will eat the plastic. You could try a mild citrus based stripper but if I'd just paint them to match the rest of the car. If you want to change the color that is.

here is a good question..........do they sell a spray in FM........or if not can the paint they do sell be put into a airbrush and applied........thinking out side the box here........FM would look hotter in the car than blue.........

Im sure its not a perfect match, but I saw one in the store the other day by Duplicolor tha is so close that it would work. Being that the trim pieces are not going to be right against the actual paint job, a slight difference would not be detectable.

If you hang tight Im about to test it on my spare center console that I screwed up. I can compare it to my FM after its done and let you know how close it is. Im going to do it tomorrow.

I've always wanted to paint my interior. How did you do this? Just spray paint? Where and what spray paint did you use?

Most parts stores have a good supply of paint to pick from these days........

Clean the parts prior to painting with alchohol to remove the freecoat from the makers mold..........and a tack cloth..........to get it cleaner yet.......wet sand it with 600 grit to rough up the surface tack it again and many light coats of paint followed by many light coats of clear coat.....sand it here or there between coats and make sure to let it dry well also.......it is pretty easy to do really.......
