i just cleaned the parts and sprayed. started with very light coats and moved on to thicker coats. i used dupli-color spray, the color is medium blue. in person it's a really nice color. everybody that has seen it in person so far said it looks awesome.

and a question for anybody that has done this: should i clear coat all the pieces or leave them? will clear make it look shinier or does it just protect it more?

Duplicolor is what most people I know use. Advance and autozone i know sell it and probably o'reilly's. sanding is not really necessary, but if you don't i would recommend duplicolor adhesion promoter. mostly just make sure it's clean.

i didn't use any adhesion promoter or sand and it looks good. we will see how it holds up.

i haven't really seen any difference in clear coat or not. i did my vents one with and one without. waited a few days and couldn't tell a difference at all really. but i went ahead and did the other. my guess would be it helps with protection long-term.

I used a UV resistant clear when I did mine just for the added protection. The color coats were Krylon premium 18kt. gold plate metallic.

I liked the blue. I have a BSP tC and a friend of mine that works a body shop is going to paint all my pieces to match my exterior. It's not going to be very noticeable, but it will match. I think the only issue with the blue is there wasn't enough of it. If you had some blue on the seats it would've made it look more balanced. Or maybe since the dash is black the contrast between the dash and blue was too high. I liked it. It made your car different. Don't let anyone talk you into doing what they do, otherwise we'd end up like the Civic crowd; "be original - just like everyone else"
