DIY: LEDs in cupholders. Lots of pics. Very detailed.
This was a great write up. I just installed the same LEDs (red) In my RS 5.0. I hooked it up to the cubby hole light to draw power so there on when my lights are. I'll post pics soon. Thanks again for the write.

Okay so I'm really confused about this part, I finally got everything I need so someone please clarify this, I'm not sure where the LEDs positive or negatives would connect. I saw the picture but wasn't complete sure. how do I know what connection is negative and what is positive? Say the wires that meet between the LEDs are negative does that mean both the wires coming out are positive? But then how would I ground one wire an the other one connect to a 12v source? Any suggestions on this? Giving me a head ache. Or would one wire be negative and the other one positive even then it means the wires connecting between the LEDs are a positive and a negative and that doesn't sound correct
The positive lead on the led is typically the longer one. Each led usually consumes 3.2ish volts so you can safely run up to three in series, with a resistor to adjust the voltage accordingly. Google LED Array Wizard, the website is chock full of good info but the wizard itself is awesome, generates easy to read wiring diagrams and all. Disclaimer: your leds should have come with a data sheet which included the recommended voltage; some diy car mod companies prep leds for 12v applications in which case everything I said above wont apply.
