As you guys know that the 08 have the things to connect to Ipop, i just wondering is it work for ipod touch 3rd gen or iphone 3g ?

p.s: cauze i bought my car (used) last week and it doesnt have the cable, so I about to order the cable but im afraid that wont work for my iphone, itouch

If you use a 3.5mm male-to-male audio cable you should be able to hook the iPhone, iPod, whatever device with a 3.5mm headphone/output jack on it, to the AUX IN port found in the center console. This will only send AUDIO to the factory radio, it will not charge to iPhone, iPod, but it will allow you to play music through the factory radio.

 

nope. i have 08 and it doens't work with mine. ipod touch and iphones use firewire connection to charge and stuff. older ipods charge through the usb connection. jsut another way for apple to screw us all over and spend more money.

 

you got that mixed around dude.

newer ipods and iphones use USB... firewire is the old obsolete stuff.
USB is 5VDC..

firewire is 12VDC... and convenient for cars since there's no need for any extra circuitry in older accessories..

now you need that extra stuff to step down the 12VDC to 5VDC for the USB charging new products.

fyi.. everyone knew firewire was being discontinued.. it was the third-parties out there that decided to continue making the cheaper firewire charging accessories until Apple finally killed it.

 

My method WILL work. Buy a car charger for long trips you should be fine.
