Default double din dvd problems

hey guys i never post here ....i find everything i need on the search button. But this time im stuck... i recently bought a legacy 6.5 double din dvd player with tv tuner. Problem i cut the ends of each cable and connected with some electric tape. My player works fine until later on after work i get in car try turning on. and it doesnt turn on i press power button and i get nothing. The next mornin i disconnect the yellow battery cable along wit the red power cable connect them back and TADA it turns on. Does it have anything to do with how cold it is outside ....I doubt its that my other players never did this?????Should i connect the cables with the little plastics???thanks sorry for long description

Hmm, might be the connections, usually when you splice, its best to solder and then tape them for the best connection.

the connection with the electric tape is probably week. if youi don't solder the wires together, you could do it the other way by crimping the wires or using that wire connecting thingy.

your best bet is goign to radio shack and grabbin a 10 doller solder gun and solder your connections. twist connetcors, crimp caps, butt connectors, they can all come off/loose over time. solder all your connections, tape em, and then zip tie the harness together

solder, heatshrink. if not that get some buttsplices and crimp them. make sure the wire is actually touching the connector too before your crimp them. and if that doesnt work . . umm. . what deathbyc4 said..

Hey guys well today in the mornin i went ahead disconnected the red and yellow wires connected them back wit twist caps and it turned on. It was working fine the whole ride to work, Then at 1am got in car goin home tried turning on and nothing. Im guessing its the cold weather. WHY because when i have it in garage it turns on fine. Also in the day time when i disconnect the wires and connect back it turns on fine. Right now its real cold but i did the same thing i did this morning disconnecting wires and connecting them back and the radio didnt turn on at all.Its about 29 degrees outside right now. In the mornin it was about 45 and it did turn on after dicsonnecting and connecting wires. can anyone help meee do you guys think its the cold weather??What can i do ive had it for a month and i cant return it? is there anyway i could keep it warm lol doesnt involve me sitting in it?????

no i think its your connections. use solder and solder all the wires together. its the strongest bond you can make other than it just being the same wire. if that doesn't work then you have a problem

It may be the unit itself. i bought that jensen double den when it first came out. installed it and it worked for about 1 hour then the sound kept goin out took it to a shop to get checked and they said it was the unit. so you might wanna take it back and get another. i end up getting a whole different unit.
