Default Double Din mounting kit

According to Crutchfield, I still need a mounting kit for a double din receiver (kenwood dpx-701). I thought since it was the same size it would just slide right in. Do I need one or not?

Default DD kit for Scion

You will need the kit because of the factory mounting set-up. Crutchfield will have it in stock very shortly. I used the kit with my IVA300 from Alpine. It turned out really sweet. I hope this helps.

Is http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GogmmUw...0&I=003TOYK969 not the correct mounting kit? It is showing as in stock. The person at crutchfield said they were out of stock too but it has always showed up online as being in stock.

Can't you just drill new holes in to the stock mounting then attach the Head unit with the bolts from he factory unit

Yep thats what I did for my eclipse unit. It fits perfectly fine as long as you drill the holes in the right place.
