Default eDead

Hi guys,

I am interested in eDeading or equivalent my entire cabin of my car... Trunk, floor & doors. About how many ft^2 should I purchase? I'm sure someone on here has done this before so I'm just looking to get a rough number for total area for the tC. Also, after doing this what kind of results should I expect?

Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing...
Just how much difference does it really make?
Some, I'm sure... but what about all the sound just leaking through the cracks, windows, roof, etc?
I bet it would be a weird sensation to drive around in a totally silent car.

Look there it has the gut and how much he used. Well all I did was my doors and I have to say.....there is no difference at all. But I'm pretty sure there would be a big difference if I did the whole car.

I disagree. I've used the 2sq ft sheets and noticed improvements in customers cars. but I guess it would also have something to do with one's expectations. A 2sq ft sheet at each speaker location will not eliminated road noise, but in my opinion it does improve sound by adding density to the speaker mount location.

I have done my floor, trunk floor, doors, rear panels, and trunk lid... It is amazing. Much quieter in the car and actually feel a little smoother on bumps because of the sound deadened... I used 4 layers on the trunk lid, cause my sytem.. Youll like it man.. I prolly used a total of 85 sq. ft.

I did my doors, back seat panels, wheel well and back panels on sides, the tire area,in all of the areas I used the paint on edead in two layers, then put on a layer of .060 over all of it.

Behind my components I used a 1ft x 1ft scquare of the .25 thick edead.

My stereo is very mid bassy from the components and they are crossed at 80hz for the rear components and at 120hz for the front components...I have a front and rear stage for no other reason than I bought a 5 channel amp and wanted to put them in for my passengers.

Sound inside the car is notably better,no rattles at all.....well except for the taillight.....but in the car you cannot hear it.

Road noise and exhaust noise are a lot less as well.

I purchased 120sq ft of materials and am pleased with it.I need to get a little more and do the hatch but I am trading it for a hatch that has no spoiler on it so I am gonna wait till that is done before doing it.

You will definitely notice a difference. I used about 180 sq ft but that is a little excessive for most people. I would say at bare minimum do the doors and the rear quarter panel area. Oh yea, and I second the Raammat suggestion!!
