Default Engine Bay Lighting Project Questions

I received my ozniuns flex strips today (2) 9.5", and (2) 4.7", but now I have a final installation question about how much neg and pos hook up wire i should get to, and is using 18 gauge OK, or should I go bigger like 16ga..I know from what I have aleady read that I should add some heat shrink over the butt connectors for added protection and lotts of zip ties, as for the zip ties which size would be best to use. I already have an existing 16 gauge ATC Fuse Holder at my battery terminal for the interior lighting set up i previosly done with 18gauge wire for that install..my plan is to wire the engine bay lighting to the same switch that controls my interior lighting...Thanks

well... 18G is pretty small... and could most like melt a little too easy to use in the engine bay... i wouldnt use butt connectors... they are trouble... instead i would solder and shrink tube and and use wire loom or tech flex over it all and zips ties to secure it all in place... zip tie size doesnt really matter... as long as its black.. 6" or 8" is usually good cause you are gonna want to cut off the excess zip tie....

when the wires are tucked away the heat will not be a factor 18 is fine........it is what I used.........16 and 14 are fine as well, infact they will make connecting it all easier.......i went with the same size wire the lights came with for a clean install........18 gauge..........

solder is probably the best way to connect but my kid took apart my gun and it no longer works.........damn kids......LOL............,but using the but joints and shrink is fine as well.........use a set of crimps to join it,not just pliers.........

well heres my engine bay lighting install, i had to use a few strips that were going to be used for my trunk lighting, because they came defective, but oznium is already sending me replacements, and i also just placed an order for a few superflux leds to fill in those dark spots

i used the 19" on the back, and for the front i used the 9.5", i did not do the v shaped pattern you did, what i did was trim down that v shaped plastic section on both sides so that the strip would mount evenly flush onto that section
