Default Factory 08/09 subwoofer install...

good day to all... i got my self a 08/09 radio aswell as the factory sub... the radio plugs in with no issue.. infact.. it looks like toyota has had the same radio connectors for awhile... i dropped my original 05 head unit in my son's 1997 tercel and it plugged right in.. Now.. for my problem.. i have the 08/09 factory sub.. i can see the colors and how to wire up the power/ground/power on.. however.. does anyone know if the inputs come directly off the speakers or if line level adapters are needed.. the wire colors for the inputs on the sub ( the small portion of the hardness that came with the sub) look 99% like the colors for the speaker wiring... i guess i can alway wire it up directly to the speakers and try but figure id ask here just in case anyone knew.....

thanks for any help

BTW.. i did search but nothing came up under factory subwoofer.. except for a post about how to install the bazuka sub.. but this is not the one i have.. it is the one that goes under the large rear spare cover..

so i've got an 08 that had the upgraded radio and factory sub. there was a separate harness for the sub that connected to the back of the radio. then in the trunk, below the mats were the trunk latch is, there's a harness there that the wires from the sub plug in to. the harness should be there so long as the car is an '08 +.

....hope this helps.
