Okay everyone, im sitting here in my garage with my tC, and ive put puddle lights on my tc. How do i wire them through to the firewall? Where do i hook them up to the battery, is there an extra cable for addons, or can it go straight to the battery?

 

There's a boot with a bundle of wires just above the gas pedal.

rubber grommet thingy with a bunch of wires going trhough it. get a flashlight and look, you CANT miss it.

i see it, now how do i put the wires through it, and where do they come out on the other end? Is the wire for the battery in there too?

 

poke a coat hanger through, attach wires to coat hanger w/ tape, pull through.

just wire straight to the battery and use a switch.

 

the wires wont corrode?

 

why would they?

 

i would run your wires to a switch inside the car (toggle on/off switch), then run the wires to your battery, or a wire that is hot when the car is on, but i doubt you have the tools to test for that. so your best bet is to just run the wires to the battery so you can have the lights on even when the car is off

 

i see, im trying the coat hanger thing, but the wire keeps falling off, should i run the hanger through first?

i must be doing it wrong, is there a best angle of attack to get it through the firewall?

 

try using a utility knife to slice a little hole... that should help you get the coat hanger through.

 

Ehhhh, i would hate to cut my baby, im gonna try it one more time, if it doesnt work, i'll just cry. How would i bring a wire from the bottom of the car inside the car? Would it be through the firewall as well?

 

there are grommets in the floor in the footwells.
