Ok... so there is no more confusion... ill define a few things

Grommet: Typically a rubber object (usually in a circle form) that is used to protect wires from getting spliced by metal

Firewall: The divider between your engine bay and the inside of your car

Floorboard - in simple terms... the bottom of your car, aka the area your feet rest

Quick install:

- run your wires from your puddle lights through the grommet in the floor board (cut a little whole in the grommet, then seal it with caulk)

-run those wires to a switch (typical place to mount a switch is next to your side view mirror adjuster)

-run wires from the switch, through the firewall using a coat hanger like neo said. poke the one end through (the end that does NOT have the wire. and on the other end, wrap the wire on the end of the close hanger, like a snake wrapping around a pole, and take it with electrical tape. and dont be shy on the tape, but dont use too much cause it could make it harder to pull through the fire wall

-after you have the wires through the firewall, since you are connecting straight to the battery, i recommend you splice your power wire for the light, and install an inline fuse (15a's is more than enough)

- then from the inline fuse, run the wires to the battery and terminate the wires and connect them to the battery.

-install complete

better yet, and dont take offence to this. i recommend you gonig to a shop to get this done, and ask them if you can watch what they do so you can learn how to do it yourself. if your having this many problems with something simple like this, i dont want you to mess up your car by splicing wrong, having a bad ground, crossing wires, etc.

thats my recommendation

you have to pull the carpet up!

but here is a better solution to you wiring needs!

pull off fuse box cover under switch panel in dash, then reach hand up and push out switch panel, now if you have foglights the harness will be easy to find, if not then you will see it taped up inside somewheres. its a white plug with 5-8 wires I think.

Now find the gray wire in that harness, get a t-tap and tap into that gray wire, now your puddle lights will only come on with the ignition on!

from that wire hook to a switch, then out to the puddle lights wa-la all wiring done and is fused through parking lights circuit!

sorry just went outside to look to verify that wire and I was wrong!

gray wire in foglight harness is the parking light wire- which means puddle lights will only be on if parking lights are!

you need the blue/gray wire in the power mirror harness which is 12V+ switched power off of the ignition switch.

Now there is two blue and gray wire in that harness. so if you pull out the switch panel and look at the mirror harness you will see on the right hand side a blue/gray wire, a brown wire, and another blue/gray wire. YOU WANT THE BLUE/GRAY WIRE CLOSEST TO THE STEERING WHEEL

Hope this helps, if you need further assistance email me and I will get right back to you.

I've got it all wired, to the battery and all, now I'm not done, I'm gonna poke through the firewall and hookup a switch to it when I get home, and I'll post some pictures of what it looks like too. Anyway, I am glad you're gettin a laugh out of it, I am too.
