Default Flip-up door removal and moon roof mod.

Hey, this is my first post. I have a 2007 flint mica tC. I searched but I couldn't find anything so I apoloize in advance if this question is asked all the time.

You know the flip up door thing that covers the stereo deck? I was wondering if there's a kit that would be simple to remove the door and pull the head unit out so that it's flush. I'm just tired of the door thing that I never use.

Or maybe is there a kit that makes it motorized so that it opens automatically when I start the car and closes automatically when I turn the car off? That would make me want to keep the door.

Also, you know how the moon roof opens part of the way and you have to push the button again to get it to open all the way? Is there a way to just make it open all the way and close all the way, I never have it anywhere in between accept when it's just flipped open.

Thanks! Just out of curiosity, is this one improperly installed or something? It's really slow and loud.

EDIT: This is extremely customizable! That video must just be on the slow speed!

I think I will order this. It will be my first mod.

you can easily remove the cover for the stereo by taking apart the center console then unscrewing the cover..pretty simple and can be done in less then 5 minutes. However I would just keep the cover especially if you have an aftermarket navi. Its not like the aftermarket navi is something that can be taking out so you need something to hide it so people wont think about stealin it

I actually feel the same way about the moonroof. Having to push the close button 3 times to get it shut from the fully open position is a huge pain.

But if I do that wouldn't there be a big gap in the top? And also, is the harness setup so I can place the head unit in the dash flush so that it's not set in there all the way?

I feel that by covering up my deck, people think I have something to hide, and that will get them to break into my car. I just have the regular head unit, not navigation or anything special.

There probably will be a gap but thats the best you can do unless you fabricate a center console..any who, would you rather have a nice 2000 dollar navi showing for the world to see or would you rather have a clean lookin modest cover that flows with your car? The aftermarket stereo whether its just a single din or a in dash double din will draw attention regardless. Having the cover even at least makes the theft second guess whether they want to break in and steal something. Why would a theft break in a car just to see whats behind the cover? Take that big of a risk and the stereo turns out to be a worthless stock stereo.

It's just an annoyance that surely can be fixed with some sort of modification. I don't know why you two insist on criticizing me.
