So now I have to think: Do I hate the Amber LED's more than not having any electrical warranty? If anyone has any ideas to get away with having the best of both worlds, PLEASE tell me cuz my boys here are out of ideas for me!
the heat issue with burning out leds is referring to the soldering process. if you leave it on a little toooooo long (which is awhile, unless you jack up the wattage.. etc...) then led well.. won't like it too much.
other than that.. i've done many swaps myself and have had great results and feedback.
if you don't like amber... than change it out. my gauges are lightish red.
i have white LEDS that i got from garage also. hes a great guy, lots of help and fast shipping too! i just havent had the time to get them done
my friend who is helpin me has been doin over nights the past 2 weeks lol so hes workin at night and sleepin during the day grrrr... hopefully we can do them tomorrow.
but the needles are a PITA!!
i think if you want the needles to be red against blue gauges, your best bet would be that when you do the LED swap either put a red or white LED for the LED that illuminates the needle. as to if this method would really work im not too shure, but it would kinda make sense, but i dont know how much the color MAY bleed. but anyway here are some pics of my set up. i got all the LEDs from Lc-LED.com which was refered to by squall when i got them done. the needles are blue during the day, if you want a pic just pm me and ill get one but here are the pics i have so far
