is this a good price for a viper 5901 installed?
I am thinking of installing this viper alarm on my 07 scion tc at a local audio store. I have bought a d3 from them before and been shown where they do their install in the back. The cost of the alarm and install is about $485 after tax and everything.
Get the complete breakdown on price.
The system itself can be purchased online for less than $300.
Also see what type of bypass they are selling you for it and their price. They normally cost $100 retail but can be purchased online for $50.
See if they will change the price of install if you purchase the items elsewhere and come there to have it installed, some places do and some don't, since installation is pure profit.
You can also install it yourself, it takes a little time and patience for a beginner but everything can be installed underneath the dash, in the kick panel or behind the radio. The only wire you have to run into the engine bay is for your siren, everything else is under the dash and in the drivers' side kick panel. The bypass, there are 3 types, that I would use, one requires giving up a key, another requires giving up a key only to program the bypass then it can be removed, the other downloads codes from online to integrate with the bypass. Losing a key is by far the most beneficial and always guaranteed to work, the others can take some time getting them to program successfully.
The install can be done in less than 3 hours and that's on the high side.
I can't recall if this alarm is specifically made for a manual or not and I don't know which your car is but if it is a manual, one relay can bypass the clutch for starting purposes, you just have to remember before you exit your car that in order to remote start your car that your car cannot be in gear.
I worked as an installer for 2 years before I finished my undergraduate work.

LOL pro huh....you'll be surprised.
Definitely get a price breakdown. I have a few Python 990's that i'm trying to unload, I completely forgot I had them until you mentioned DEI products.
