Harman Kardon Drive+Play
I finally got sick of burning MP3 cd after MP3 cd and decided to get the Drive+Play. I have a couple pics I'll post tommorow. Didn't take any during the install, but its incredibly easy to do a good job. All said, it cost just over $200 for the Drive and Play and an Auxiliary adapter for my cd changer port. Installation took under an hour and I used a dremel tool and a drill so I could run the wires to my center console storage. The only downside was the placement of the controller. Not having anywhere else to mount it, I placed it over the ashtray, which I had been using to store loose change (now I just use the section in the glove box for that). Sound quality is perfect, as is to be expected. Controls are very similar to that of the ipod. Dash-mounted display is very nice, easy to read, and is similar to the ipod screen itself.
Looks alright. I don't know if the screen would fit, but you should try and mount it in the cubby hole. That would clean up your wire coming out of the HVAC. Or at least move the screen closer to the top of the HVAC so less wire shows. Just my 2-bits.
Do you have it hooked-up through a FM Transmitter? If you use the power cable, I think your sound would be 50x better. I too looked at this gizmo, but for the $cratch I just ended up buying the Alpine CDA9856 (+ iPod Cable) from Crutchfields. Its about the same price as the drive+play and now my new HU sounds sweet! But anyways, Harman Kardon makes quality stuff. Good buy.
Power cable vs. lighter adapter would offer no difference in performance. Rather than use the FM transmitter option, which sounds like complete crap, I used an adapter from USA Spec that plugs into your cd changer port and gives you two sets of RCA jacks. The first set goes to 6-1, the second 6-2 when you switch over to cd changer mode. This device is small, and using double stick tape, I was able to mount it directly behind the head unit. If there is enough interest, I'll open it up again so I can take pictures of it.
^^You mean something like this?

I used to have that until I got my new HU. To hook everything (Sat. Radio, iPod, Sub) up, it was just easier to get a new HU. RCAs are definitely the way to go.
