Default Headlight color discussion.

Ok, so I was looking around and i found a TON of different bulbs in all kinds of colors. Now i know from experiance, what they tell you is not always true. Alot of times they are not as blue/yellow/white whatever the case maybe as they want you to belive.

So, i was wondering what kinds of bulbs do you have/have tried in your tC? Pics of the actual headlights working would be great :D.

I love HID's, but i wont be able to afford them for awhile so for now that's out of the question. I am looking for bulbs that are much closer to the blue that HID's have. I had silverstars on my accord and while they are nice, they were more white than the blueish tint i was looking for.

Any suggestions?

Maybe i'll add a poll of all the different manufacturers and see what people think of them.

This may help you.

This was taken from http://faqlight.carpassion.info/hl-hid-bulbs.htm

Yellow:
1500 k Candlelight
2700-2900 k Yellow painted fog halogen bulbs
-------------------------------
Yellowish white:
3200 k Sunrise/sunset
3200 k Premium H7 non painted halogen bulb
3400 k 1 hour from dusk/dawn
-------------------------------
White:
4100 k Philips/Osram OEM HID D2S
5500 k Bright sunny daylight around noon
----------------
Blueish white
5500-5600 k Electronic photo flash
6000 k Philips Ultinon HID D2S
6500-7500 k Overcast sky
-----------------
Blue:
9000-12000 k Blue sky
-----------------
Purple:
28000 Northern sky
12000-30000 k Ultra Violet light (black light)
I don't remember where I read it, but you will get the most light output at the 4500 - 6500 K range. any higher/lower, you will just get less light intensity, and more color.

I hope this helps! :D

Luminics Pure Blue would be your closest bet.

i have luminics pure blue... just make sure and use some conductive grease when you install it.

they're known for frying a few harnesses because of a poor connection.

i HAD luminics Ultra White and Titanuim White bulbs. Both were good for a while untill i did the Silverstar 9005 retrofit mod! Since then i havent switched back to luminics! I love that mod! It worked out awsome! If you want more light on the road then do it. The luminics gave off a nice white/bluish tint to them but didnt light up the road as good as the 9005 Silverstars. I got flashed with the luminics alot. The silverstars give off a nice bright crisp white with a tad shade of blue. Im not a fan of Blue or Yellow bulbs!

Here's the mod i did!

im also going to be doing a retrofit with s2k projectors and whatnot! Hopefully by xmas?

i just did the 9005 retro fit. happy with the brightness, but kinda angry about the yellowness. i used sylvania cool blues but i didnt see anything blue about it. it was actually just a little less yellow than the stock high beams. i used to have luminics ultra white bulbs. i want a bulb with the same color temp.

anybody try the retrofit with 9005 luminics bulbs?
