Default Headlight question?

If the lightswitch is left on while the car is turned off, does that effect the car any? What about the lights being left on during daytime driving? Does it matter or should I need to keep them off during the daytime?

The only thing the lights being on while driving will do is just add a little more alternator drain and you may lose a lil' umph... They'll burn out sooner of course as headlights have a service life like any other halogen bulb, but nothing car wise will suffer.

If you leave your switch on and open the drivers door after the car is turned off, they automatically shut off, so no worries there as well...

Everyday when I go to school, I look out in the parking lot and see atleast 4-5 cars with their lights on. The sad part is that it's usually the same people almost everyday

I leave my parking lights on as daytime running lights when I'm driving. No problems yet, and I've been on the same bulbs for two years.

So, I'm sure it places a little more drain on the alternator, and a little more wear on the bulbs, but it shouldn't be too dramatic.

I'm so used to the tC's lights going off when you open the door that I almost forget to turn the xB's off.

iv heard that its not good to start you car when your light are on.
they dim and slightly flicker. its supposed to kill your lights faster than normal.
is this true?

See, I wonder the same thing that if time after time that I start the car up with the headlight switch left on during the daytime, it drains the alternator that much? Usually the switch is accidentaly left on when turning off the car at night. So does it make a difference?

didn't we have that discission somewhere before...?
it was more like.. when jump starting a car that killed its battery.. make sure the headlights are off so more power goes to the dead battery
as far as killing the bulb.... lol.. nothing.

and then also.. your parking lights are no more than those two puny 194 bulbs in your headlights.
