Default HIDs STOLEN this morning in Miami

I installed them last night in 15 minutes, even though I kept seeing a white Honda Accord driving around my extremely quiet neighborhood a couple of times, and woke this morning to find my driver's side window shattered and the HIDs are G-O-N-E !!!

ARRGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!

$200 for HIDs + $275 for new window + $20 to tint = @ $500

Alarm was worthless, since they were in and out in seconds - any recommendations?!?

Dogs - Security Cameras - ???

sorry to hear that man, what kind of alarm do you have? Does your car sit outside all night or do you have a garage?

i put mine in my garage every night! Havent left it out once! i dont live in a bad neighborhood but i dont live in the best either! I know all the ppl in our neighborhood and we all get along and whatnot. a couple of wanksters but nothing big, they kept their trouble away from the house. I have a small chiwawa (im not gonna spell it) and a small ____zu mix barking at every walking thing and they think their the biggest and meanest dogs ever! When they start going crazy is when i start walking around the house to make sure everythings safe!.

ha ha, this isnt mine!

anyway back on topic, sorry to hear that! I would find out where that fool lives and see if he installed some new HID's, if he doesnt have some already? If you know its him, then confront him? Good luck!

I feel for you. My 96 Saturn was broken into over the weekend.. I dont drive it much so I just noticed it. They got the custom box I built, the 10's in it and the kenwood amp powering everything. They also hit the car right up the lot from me... I would LOVE to have caught that happening. Thieves deserve nothing less than being severly crippled in my book.

how would you even set our alarm off anyways? I've had my dad randomly smack my parked/locked car (not with my consent i might add) with his hand/foot, and the damn thing still didnt go off.

They just have glass break sensors. So you would have to rap something on the glass pretty hard to set it off. It will also go off if someone manages to open the door. Which, really is all that it should be monitoring. Shock sensors would be nice, as long as you could get them set so the stupid alarm doesnt go off all the time. The issue though with any alarm that does not page you is that no one listnes. ScionDad on here had his daughters tC broken into in the middle of a movie theater parking lot. The guys busted out the window, alarm screaming, and stole the sound system equipment... with people standing all around watching them. If someone wants it, they dont care, they will steal it. Thats why I am planning to follow his lead and design my own security system, with video and a brain that is hidden deep in the car. I have been slowly designing the electronics for a security system for a long time just because I have ideas for my own nice features and setup. But in all reality, its a shot in the dark as to whether yours will be busted into, and many times if they want something they will get away with it. Or get shot... hopefully the latter

OH, and dont ask why my 4runner is pink now.. i assure you the truck is silver.. I have no idea when the little icon became pink I just noticed that ..

Goddamn...any theft is bad but 1 day after the mod, that even makes my stomach turn, as for security I would go with camera's or even at least if possible one of those sensor lights in your driveway.

Seriously though alarms are worthless I completely agree...I had my old truck in a Target parking lot a while back about 3pm people were everywhere and the guy managed to smash my window and take my damn radio (one reason i got tC loved the cover lol) so this is why I suggest u park inbetween two cars (at the risk of being dinged) but still would be harder to steal. Anyways sorry to hear that your car got broken into man that really blows. I really wanna get a badass security system now....shoots flames up from the side or something lol or I could just keep my car dirty so nobody would even mess w/ it.

open it like normal, push the sides of the box in very very hard and yank away lol. Seriously thats all you do. There are two little tabs on the side of your glove box, when you push in on the sides they no longer catch, and the glove box will pretty mach have full tilt. After that you just pull straight out and there you have your glove box in your hands. Pretty easy to figure out actuall.y

best security for me is to keep everything looking stock. my last car had a lot of attention because of my stereo, interior lights, decals etc.

that sucks man, could have been worse. you should look into investing in a $0 comprehensive deductable on your insurance.
