Where should I put the ports?

Ports should be placed at least one diameter away from any adjacent walls. If this is not possible to do this, the tuning frequency for a given port length will be lower than that predicted by the equations, and this may adversely affect the results.

so it means the tuning will be lower than predicted not higher like you are saying.

i have never once heard anybody suggest to tune lower than 28hz for SQ in a car, and i have been on several car audio forums for quite a while. i spend a lot of my free time reading on car audio forums. tuning that low should be kept for HT.
