...i have a nooby question...plz help
I'm trying to figure out how i can play my data cd's on my mp3 player? I put one in today and it would not play? One of my friends told me that you have to program the system in order to listen to it...is this true, or is there a way to play my data cd's?

As long as the CD is a closed session cd with MP3 Files on it, it should work just fine... make sure you're not writing other formats on it, and that the CD session is closed when done writing and it should be good to go.
i do it...and it works perfect with the stock radio, you dont have to do anything......
my best advice to you is use iTunes
go to Edit>Preferences>Burning>and click the circle that says data cd or mp3 cd...
works perfectly with me
good luck..if that doesnt work maybe ur head unit is malfunctioning?

also make sure you dont burn it really fast. some cd players dont read fast burned (10x+) cds. i always do my burning at 8x or if its important 4x and it always works. yeah and nero is the ish.. lol... i wish they had it on mac
. .lol
I'm by no means a pro at burning CDs, but I used Musicmatch Jukebox to burn a CD the other day when I noticed that I could choose between "audio CD," "mp3 CD," and "data CD." I've seen the MP3 feature on our head units but never really dabbled-- anyway, I set it to "mp3 CD" and it let me fill without a time limit, like audio CDs, all the way up to my dic's 800 MB limit! I put about 60 songs on one CD and only used 38% of the capacity.
So... give MusicMatch Jukebox a try if you can't get anything else to work.

The stock Pioneer decks need no setup. Just put in any CD that contains MP3s or WMAs and it should play them.
I am using WinXP, and it is simpler than anything else I’ve tried in the past.
All I have to do is put a disc in the drive, use Windows Explorer to access the drive, copy-paste my MP3 songs, click on “write these files to CD”, assign a CD name (optional), then check the radio button “make a data CD”, then click “Next”. Sit back and wait for the CD to pop out when it’s done. Then stick it in the player in my car and I’m all set. No need to download or install any optional software.
Using Windows Explorer to burn CDs, you can create separate folders for each album or create different folders for different genres. That way you don’t have to advance through 20 some tracks to get to a different album or mood.

^^ like what he said, I personally use Nero, but if you are a computer illiterate and dont want to mess with big complicate software then just use Windows built in feature. Very painless and reliable. But if you want more features then you need something else
thnx a bunch,
