does anyone have em or have heard how they sound? i'm lookin to buy some new speakers for my car and have found a good deal on the kappas. but before i drop the cash i want to get some feedback (and possibly some pix) first.

 

I have the kappa components in the front, the kappa two ways in the back, and a 4 channel rockford fosgate 1000 watt amp running them. I think it sends about 100w rms to each speaker. I also have a 200w basslink in the back for the lows. The clarity on the components is amazing. At full volume on my CDA-9853 there is no distortion, and at regular listening volume (18-20) they sound really nice. The mid hits are definitely clean and crisp. These speakers can play higher than you'd ever want to really listen to, and it might take some EQ/Crossover tuning to get them where you want them. The bass is obviously not that great - but its better than stock. You will definitely want a sub of some kind, if you dont already have one. My little Infinity Basslink has worked great. It barely takes up a cubic foot of trunk space and it has plenty of bass for me. I mostly listen to rock/alternative though, so I don't like or need that much bass. The kappas' mids and highs are perfect for this type of music. As for pictures of my setup - I'd be happy to get some for you but it really wouldn't be anything to look at. I had them professionally installed and they used the stock speaker mounts and grills - so its hard to tell (visually) that I have new speakers. Although if you want to see how I set up my amp, I can take a picture of that for you. My installers hid it under the carpet in the back to save space. I absolutely love my setup. If you have come across a good deal on them, I would definitely recommend them. I'm sure there are plenty of nicer components out there, but I was in the same situation you are in and got them for a good price. I love mine and they have given me no problems ever since I got them in December, even after taking some pretty serious daily listening.
