I got the foot well light from here:
http://www.besthongkong.com/index.php?cPath=10_59
They are the 48 cm ones which comes out to be about 19 inches or so,
the fit perfectly under there stretching from one side all the way to the next with an led every cm for a perfectly uniform light
the only thing about the website is that shipping takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks cause the package has to come through customs, I've ordered from them a few times.

Although this was placed in a '09 Camry SE, this will work in any car
It was simply plug and play. It works with any car that uses 194/921 bulbs. In the process of making them work in 3022/3175 festoon bulbs. Just need to order parts. I have some laying around if anyone is interested.

I also soldered a fuse holder and added a slow burn fuse. The inverter I have pictured is the cheap one where if you plug it in the wrong way, it will blow out the slow burn fuse as well as the inverter. The ones I have laying around have built-in reverse polarity. So if you plug it in the wrong way and it doesnt work, just flip the plug around. No need to replace fuse or inverter.
