I'm looking to get an aftermarket head unit that is ipod ready (with purchase of cable). other than that i just want it to be a reliable company and less than 150$. any suggestions?

try looking at some alpines... i know you can find some pioneer decks that have the ipod connection but having control the ipod is a diffrent story..

Spend the extra $80 (HU + iPod cord; $230 total) and get the Alpine CDA-9856. You won't be sorry! Just read the reviews in the link I provided.

i would usually suggest pioneer, but in that price range.. to be honest the ipod control on those decks really suck.. lol

it looks pretty cool. you still have to get the ipod adapter though. but if it fits your needs (price, functionality) go for it!

i still say get alpine, eclipse, or pioneer though if possible.. lol

 

the adapter is just a 30is dollar auxillary cable right?

 

if you want an input the yes. but if you want the one where you can control your ipod from your deck you need the ipod specific one. i think it runs about 50 or so.
