Default iPod question.

Point me to a post if you know where it is or please answer this question.

i have an 06 tC, with that green aux jack, is there a way to connect my iPod and use my HU controls to control it and listen to music ? or am i just going to have to listen to music via headphone jack to car aux from the iPod?

I really wanna be able o control from the HU, someone toss me some helpl.

with what you have, no.

the only way to do that with the stock unit is to have the iPod HU upgrade. it comes with a specific connector and cable that connects thru the iPod dock connection.

yes and no. If you order it when you get the xB then it is $260 (and installed at the port). You can have the dealership do it but the cost of it goes way up to like $900. Your best bet is to go after market. I did that in my truck and it cost about $300.

I thought the $900 price was only for pre '06 tCs????
and the after the fact install was like 400 or somethin??? oh well.

but yea your best bet now is to go aftermarket. you will end up with greater expandability that way too.

just go aftermarket! Alpine and iPod have combined together and thank god for that! I love my iPod nano! Alpine's comming out with their 06' HU. Nice too! I cant wait to get the IVA-W200 Double Din. The ipod will only have 1 cable to connect from the ipod to the HU instead of what i have right now.

once its connected, you can only control through the HU. Im not sure if it will change on the 06 models since yall have controls on the wheel, but my HU came with a remote? So i was good. I might want to get the 06 steering wheel? Looks pretty kool! But if you know what songs are in what order then its pretty easy. I love this, its better than buring cd's and only be able to get 15-20 songs.

pioneer sells the same kit of set up. my brother has it on his integra (he got jealious of me!). it is really nice and easy to install and also only needs the one connection and controls it through the HU. the screen says PIONEER when connected.

..... not as cool as it saying SCION though

you can also search on here for an adapter that will let you hook up stock steering wheel controls to an after marke HU.

cool, i would suggest you also hook up the adapter for power so you can charge it while connected to your car.
