Default iPod touch in 08 tC

Just wondering if the iPod touch has any problems in the 08 tC with the iPod integration. Not talking about aftermarket radios, talking about the stock radio and the iPod plug that is in the center console.

Thanks.

I just sold my regular ipod to get a touch, but I got to thinking that maybe the touch doesn't have the firmware to work with the scion radio or someting.

Thanks for making it clear!

yeah its just not like the ipod nano or the 80 gig one which displays scion's logo on the ipod screen though when you plug it in. But yeah it works even if you havent updated the touch to the latest firmware.

Okay cool, so it's okay to connect and disconnect it at anytime right? Weird that it doesn't show the logo.

Yeah it should be fine. I just leave mine plugged in there and got another one on the go. But hide them from prying eyes when you leave

My friend tried to Jailbreak his touch 1.1.2 back to 1.1.1 firmware so he can jailbreak it . right in the middle of the process the ipod touch hanged and when he tried to restore it from itunes. It said there was a problem while attempting to restore the ipod touch. We then found out that his Serial number is 1C738CRUW4T the 38 is the week when it was made and those from weeks 35 or so to 39 have had known problems. So I suggest if you have this week production on your touch not to attempt to jailbreak it since you cant return that to apple anymore for a new one once the ipod gets broken. firmware 2.0 should be out anytime soon before the July 11 iphone 3G intro.

If you get the new touch with the software upgrade is jailbreaking pointless?

the process i used involved, downgrading to 1.1.1, then jailbraking that to 1.1.2, then upgrade to 1.1.3, and jailbrake that.

unless there is a new method, you personally use jailbraking for custom icons and backgrounds on the homescreen. you can also get emulators (which i don't have because they suck, lol) and games. but ya, i have all the features that comes with the software upgrade anyway and my ipod came with 1.1.2

Thanks for all the help guys.

Newegg.com currently has the 16gb touch for 394 with free 3 day shipping. That's where I ordered mine, can't wait for it to get here!
