Default Kenwood KAC-9152D Amplifier Problem Help

For some reason when I turn on my car now my sub and amp just gives a little burst then turns off. I changed the ground and checked it and it is getting just as good as the battery would. I am wondering if inside the amp the protector curcuit got fried and now just cuts it off? It use to do that from time to time when the music got to loud but I was just daily driving when this happened. Any sound system guys have any ideas? My uncle just told me to take it to a sound system dealer and have them check it out.

Check your sub. If your sub is blown or the wires are loose or something, then you could have a short. If not, it could just be the amp dying. I hate to say it, but just like everything else, they don't last forever...

^ I disagree, they do in fact frequently "last forever". I've got several amps and subs from the late 80's and early 90's, all still functioning fine. That said, either can develop an issue at any time, but it's not usually related to age.

I'm not saying that age was necessarily a factor, I meant more like it's a man-made product, and therefore it isn't guaranteed to last forever...
