Did you try disconnecting your battery? Maybe a simple reset will do the trick.

Also, make sure there is NOTHING (wires, t-shirts, seat belts, etc.) in the way of the doors. Just because the door looks shut doesn't mean something might be in the way and preventing it from closing completely. On time I popped my hatch but didn't open it. (Was busy doing something to the tC.) When I went to lock it, it wouldn't lock. I think it took me like 5 minutes to figure out that I didn't re-close my hatch.

I can 1-up that. A while I first had my tC, I tried to be 'gentle' closing the doors and the trunk.

My last car had some serious electrical problems, so when overhead lights started flickering on and off, it really freaked me out. I was ready to take it into the dealership.

Turned out the trunk wasn't fully closed. Every time I went over a slight bump, it would flicker the dome light.

And what he said.

yeah.. sounds more like a door or hatch stayed open if you can't lock your doors and why the light wouldn't go off immediately..

they do turn off after awhile right??

i mean.. reading at first glance sounded like you blew a fuse until you said your lights still work..

and then i'm thinking hmm.. keyless entry.. i know there's a fuse... but it has nothing to do with dome lights...

check the hatch... my guess.

same here, i was working on my car at work. i had to go and was in a rush, so i slammed my hatch door and tried lockign it. it dint work. i was already late by this point and had to worry about it later. fortunately i was able to run back to my car 5 minutes later to see what was going on. ends up my friend left a socket wrench on the little gap of the hatch of the part that locks (its a really hard to explain thing haha) on it while i was trying to close it. and thanks to his laziness of not cleaning up i have a dent in my trunk; fortunelatly its not too bad. but after i moved the blasted wrench, i was able to close it and it was finally able to lock. damn wrench.

Yes, the fuses are linked. I don't know why, but they are. Check your fuses. . . all of them. I had this happen to my xA when I was pulling my radar detector, and I forgotten that even though it was off, I had wired it to constant 12+ and it was still powered. Needless to say, I blew a fuse cutting the wires. . . and I forgot which one.

The same damn thing happened on my Lexus too, now that I think back. I don't exactly take my time when I dismantle mods when trading in/selling.

fuse #6 is what controls your wireless remote, door locks, and illumination (gauges, entry, clock, meters.. etc..)

fuse #7 are your domelights..

how are they linked?

I don't know, but when I shorted my domelight it didn't blow the dome light fuse. . .

I'm not a Toyota tech so I don't know all the answers, but I can tell you that the EXACT same thing happened to me and that's how I fixed it. It was not a latch problem.

Maybe the dome fuse only controls the constant 12v power. . . maybe it only controls the wire that's hot when the doors are open? That's my guess.
