Default LED problems, HELP, please!

So, I did an almost complete interior LED swap. ANYWAY, the #74 bulb, for some reason will not fit for the shifter bulb.

I ordered the same bulb used for the cubby-hole light, from superbrightleds.com, the " 74 Wedge Base LED bulb". Is there something I'm missing? The bulb would slide in and illuminate, but not stick in and it would squeeze right out. I had electrical tape holding it in place for a couple weeks, but it was very unreliable.

Is there a different bulb for the shifter, or some way to fit it in?

Please help me out, THANKS!!

i would try splaying out the electrical contact "legs" on the buld a little so you get a tighter fit

Will that work? It seemed light it was the plastic/glass part of the bulb keeping it from staying in.

#74 is the right bulb. try retracing all the parts in the shifter.. i know that booger is really picky and touchy.. maybe something cracked or something fell out? and i think what LED-Maniac suggested will work.

well, when it sits there loosely, it will flicker.

what do you mean by splaying the contact legs? do you mean just move the small metal "legs" away from each other? (maybe a picture/illustration would help)

^^ he's explaining that you slightly spread them out a little so the springyness of the legs being out a little grabs hold inside better..

dunno if that'll work.. but that's what he meant to say.

I have not had that issues yet, but just as a precaution I always spread out the contacts on the led just to make sure it is a tight fit...

i just did the shifter and cubby hole lights the other day, and i didn't need to spread the connector legs to get it to work. Maybe your led was damaged on arrival?

It wasn't the LED. I've tried 5 different LEDs and they all did it. I even tried each of them in the cubby hole, and they popped right in. It must be the socket i have. It's cool now though.
