Default Mandos or any other fabrication gurus...

Has anybody tried to put a sub in the rear speaker location?

The new amp that have purchased is too big to place in the spare like the last one I had, so I thought I could place my 6.5" subs in the rear speaker locations it would give me the room that I need for the amp. What do you guys think?

The issue will be creating a sturdy baffle...or ANY baffle for that matter - some means to isolate the front of the speaker from the rear. Fiberglassing and enclosure there is possible, but would be a challenge.

The other issue is with spaced subwoofers (one on each side of the car), tuning them to sound good together will also prove to be challenging. There's no surface for them to "load" off of, and you'll have a bad proximity effect because you're closer to one of them.

I suggest you put the amplifier[s] behind the rear speaker grille[s], and place the subwoofers in the rear - under the mat, say in place of the styrofoam tray on the passenger side...

Either way you decide to go - GOOD LUCK!
