Default Mod Idea for the Electrically Inclined

I had this idea for the car and I don't think anyone has done it before but I can't imagine it being hard. I'd like to get something like a backup sensor but for the front and rear of the car at the lowest point to warn me of when I'm getting close to a curb when parking. I've never hit a curb but it would be very reassuring if something warned me when I am X inches from the curb. Could anyone do this?

It would take either a mechanical link (like the good ol curb feelers ) or something using a type of radar or laser to do it. I am guessing the later is how the system mentioned by ADR works. Due to what is involved in designing and creating it, you may be better off buying something off the shelf if there is something available. Personally I would rather see the sensors located under the side of the car near the wheels though.

^ yeah thats what I was thinking too. it help alot for cars with their plates on their bumper, not so much our tCs. Then again, you could just rip it apart and place the sensors at diffrent places (i.e. near the wheels) to make it work better..lol
