Get off of those double-"O"-seven fantasies.

But if you happen to pull this off, don't forget to make a write up. :D

you could use a small motor with a small gear on it, fix a portion of a gear onto the hinge of the glove.

I bet that an xB rear wiper motor would be awesome, and there is probably one sitting in the garage of half of the xb owners here.

lol, i was thinking pumps, but a motor might work. if its got the juice. i just want to take the stuff out of the compartment and "do" something to it.

Daskid-
I know... its silly. lol just think id be nice to post it up. im gonna see if anyone got a wiper part i could buy for cheap.

KingOfSKA-
i know its prob lame, but im gonna do on some little projects, that are cheap. spent 1000$ on parts already this year so im looking for some fun to do mods on low funds.

There are a number of ways you could accomplish this, but I suppose the most common method of motorization in cars is to use linear actuators. Here's a link to a kit you might want to check out, as it contains associated parts commonly required, beyond the actuator itself. The kit seems expensive, so I'm not necessarily suggesting you get it (just an example of parts you'd need), as you could likely shop around and save a considerable sum. Good luck!

Servo a much quicker and easier way to do it. A 1/4 scale servo like this one can lift around 20lbs, and with the right arm configuration should easily open and close a glovebox. Yes, it runs on 6v, but if you're willing to motorize your glovebox, you should be willing to solder a few resistors.
