Default My Clock light wont turn on when I have my headlight on HELP

Its been a lil over 10K with my car and now all of the sudden everytime I turn on my headlights, the lights of the clock, air control, AC button, ...the whole area (not the radio) turns off. Since the past two weeks it only turns on twice randomly and then turn off.

is there something wrong or anything I can do?

Yes there is something wrong with the 07 HVACs I think there are atleast 2 threads pertaining this problem and the only solution that I know of is the people take it to the dealership and have them put in new ones. Something to do with the circuit boards I believe.

I warn everyone before sending an 07 HVAC to me about this. Not that the led mod will cause it, but I like to make sure they are having zero issues with it before they have me mod it just in case they need to have it warrantied. I cant believe a recall/service campaign hasnt been issued since I hear about these all the time. They changed the board layout and some of the circuitry on the 07 and they have been having troubles with them since. Most likely just a manufacturing issue since they had to change the board layout.

squall.. if you come across one, I will be glad to take a look, I am curious what the issue is for sure. The trick is that I cant test the 07 in-car.. will have to be a bench test.

I have not been able to get a goofy 07 sent to me, the 07's I have in stock all work perfectly. I am darn curious as to the issue.

i have a stupid faulty hvac.

if i send it to you guys so you can check it out...would you do LED work on it for free?

hmm. unless testing it would require you to take it apart and make it obvious to the dealership that it was messed with. the latter being of course if you couldn't find the problem and fix it.

yeah i had the same problem. but mine messed up after having the car for only 3 days. luckily they had ordered a few extra parts so they were able to fix it the next day...and gave me a 350Z for a rental car. good service makes scion owners happy!

I would be willing to look at it, but I cant garauntee anything on it. If I can find the issue I would be willing to fix it for free and work out something with a swap to compensate for shipping. However, I am leaving town friday and not returning until the 9th, so it would be a while. I am sure the issue is most likely poor connections given the symptoms I have heard from many.
