Default My new led swap by garage1217

Check it out. Went out to garage1217 to have them replaced. He did an awesome job!I would highly recommend him! He's very knowledgeable about these swaps and is very careful during the process. Thanks garage1217!

Have the blue/white two tone look. Check out the pics below. Sorry my camera really sucks.

looks real good! how did the package come? is it just LEDs to replace, or is it more of a plug and play circuit board? any DIY pics? and any advice for the install?

What was his turn around like, and were you able to still drive w/o the pieces in place(just wondering so I can hold onto my old car before selling it

He actually lives an hour away from me. I went out to him to have the swap done. I stayed with him for 4 hours and watched him complete the work himself. I'm not really into soldering and he made it look like cake.

He replaced LEDS and the resistors to make it look brighter and more intense. I believe he sends out kits if you know how to solder.

Like I said before it was a local swap. I've read that you are able to drive w/o the HVAC and radio for sure. You can drive without your gauge cluster but is up to your discretion to drive without it because your ODO reading will be off. This is just what I've read around on the forums.

Its also illegal to drive without gauges.

If you drive without them for a while, other than the legality and the mileage, your cel will be on for a bit after you put them back in as well, but will go off on its own after a short bit of driving or an ECU reset.

I know some of my customers drive while I have their parts, but it is 100% up to them.

I don't like to disclose pricing but I paid $250 for the swap. Garage1217 definitely is knowledgeable about his swaps and talked about the whole process during the 3.5 hours he worked on it... Let me know if you guys have any more questions

Great post man. And the price was a special deal for the gauge cluster, radio, hvac, door locks & wheel controls all changed out, removed from the car and re-installed.

And as Dave said, not a good idea to drive without your parts in the car. Especially if you have an auto. The speed sensor circuit is in the cluster and the auto tranny cars shft goofy without the cluster plugged in.
