Default Need help picking out amp

A friend of mine gave me his old subs for free, but I still need to get an amp to power them. I know they aren't much, but I don't have money to spend on a brand new system. Any help picking out an amp or what power/rms (watts) I need for me is appreciated.

It's a Powerwedge box made by JL Audio. The subs are two JL Audio 10W04. The box/subs are an older model so I'm having trouble getting information on an amp that will power them efficiently.

So basically I need to know how much power I should be looking for in an amp, how much money I need to spend, and also any brand/model suggestions would be helpful.

Here's a picture of the box:

Here's a picture of the (2) subwoofers:

Here are the subwoofers' specs: (remember there are two of these)
Features:
o Large Diameter, progessive roll flat spider for outstanding mechanical control
and alignment
o Sealed Polypropylene Dust Cap
o Large roll, foam surround provides superior centering at high excursions
o Patented "VRC" vented reinforcement collar greatly improves structural
integrity and voice coil cooling
o Massive six-layer voice coil on Kapton former for superior thermal
powerhandling

* Specification
o Free Air Resonance (Fs) : 24.2 Hz
o Electrical "Q" (Qes) : 0.420
o Mechanical "Q" (Qms) : 8.560
o Total Speaker "Q" (Qts) : 0.400
o Equiv. Compliance (Vas) : 2.45 cu.ft (69.4 litres)
o Efficiency (1W/1m) : 85.5 dB (1W/1m)
o Effective Piston Area (Sd) : 54.7 sq.in.
o DC Resistance (Re) : 3.86
o Nominal Impedance : 4
o Power Handling (continuous) : 125W
o Mounting Depth : 5.375 in
o Mounting Hole Diameter: 9.125 in

THANKS! :D

get an amp that does about 300-400 rms or so at 2 ohms. that should take care of it.

edit: i love how they say "Massive six-layer voice coil on Kapton former for superior thermal power handling" but then say that they will only take 125watts. good old JL!

If they are single 4 ohm, a kicker zx300.1 would be perfect.

yea i would recommend not buying a crunch amp. kicker, Rf, alpine, ED the list goes on and on. there are plenty good amps out there but crunch is not one of them.

this would do ok. http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX400-1-C...QQcmdZViewItem

kicker is good, especially for the price. i have 2 kicker amps already and plan to add a small 3rd one to my system.

nope, you can wire them together to create one channel. sub can and should be used mono, not stereo.

Also, What kind of wiring do I need to hook an amp/subs up to my head unit?

you'll need a set of rca's probably 17 feet in length and 4 gauge wire from the battery probably 20 feet. and them a 17-18 foot remote wire as well. you'll need 5-6 feet of speaker wire. SO TO SUM IT UP

amp
4 gauge power wire - 20'
pair of rca cable (one set red / white) - 17'
remote wire (blue typically) - 17' (hooks up to headunit)

unless you have a factory headunit.
