Not true... with the AVIC units, you cannot just ground the P-brake wire. You need to ground the GPS as well, and to do that, you have to add a wire to the system harness. Even then, you aren't supposed to use a regular 16-18 guage wire due to heat.

Anyways, sometimes you need to do more. But apperently, with this unit, you do not.

OMGGGG you guys were so right I took the hu out it it was there apparant as night and day pluged right in. I am so mad at my install gu7y and at the tech support from eclipse right now. And I am mad cause I ordered the adapter yesterday thinking I needed it. But I am happy it is working!!! Thanks for the help. And my install guy said that there were no extra hookups. What a liar! It was right there hanging there!!!!!

Did you get it installed at Best Buy?

A lot of the times, the installers don't know what the hell they are talking about. But because they are supposed to be the professionals, they will tell you like they know everything. It's always good to check things out on your own, and SL is a great way to do that.

Anyways, I am glad that you got it all working.

Ok everything is working now I grounded the wire going to the parking brake. It was easy!!! And no I didnt get it installed at best buy. I would never do something like that. I went to a perfesional install place.
