Check your ISP's FAQs for access to Usenet/Netnews/NNTP. Then grab a copy of Newsleecher (www.newsleecher.com) or newsbin (www.newsbin.com) to get access to the files.

someone will grab it off Usenet and put it on the torrent and I'm sure Limewire as well.

 

ok my friend got it, now will just have to burn a copy and get some dl disks...my computer burns dual layer I "think", have never tried..its a dell xps 600 and just got it few months ago...hope so, otherwise im outta luck haha.

 

now that it's done uploading to Usenet, if anyone else needs it, i'll let people download it one at a time. It's hosted on a T1, which isn't all that fast (150k/sec). so if one person at a time grabs it, it'll be ok.

FTP preferred. PM me. When you're done, you must PM me again so the next guy can grab it.

If someone has a really fast place to put it, that'd be even better

 

it was my understanding that the 5495 did not use a disc. the map data was preloaded on the 30 gig hard drive.

 

hey i got it downloaded! This is version 1.4 it says (he checked the readme info or something) ? So it is the retail latest update right? Awesome! I just got some Dual Layer dvds, and friends still up'in it on a server for me. woo hoo! If is 1.4

cause i heard 1.3 might not work for avn5435, but 1.4 is made for it as an upgrade!

 

There's no readme in my version. my version is 1.6 for sure.

 

these files are named eclipsenav16.part001 etc...but he extracted it and checked the files and located a info on the file that said v1.4

as eclipse told me in my email:

An update version 1.4 has recently come out, it is one that
you would need to purchase. We do not offer a free upgrade on the map disc.

...so I hope this is the latest one, that'd be awesome!

 

got it...if you go into dvd options and hit the dvd info or whatever, it tells you its version 1.4, which is the latest...not sure where the 1.6 came from? maybe just how they label the discs?

pierced you're probably right actually. I think I got confused between version "1.4" and the year "2006" or something.

 

one thing i noticed with my system is that when i first start out, it always has me to the side of the road im on...like im driving in the grass, then gets me on course after like 1/4 mile...dont think it needs recalibrated...cause it gets me on track, just the first distance...may still locking on gps?

i was wondering, a friend told me dvd copies tend to run a little hot...and can go bad when heavily used...any insight to this? not sure if the dual layer discs are the same? I backed up my copy either way.

Ice, any chance I could get part30 from you somehow. I have tried downloading it several times and everytime it tries to compile the disc it says part30 is corrupt. All of the other sections seem to be fine. Thanks!
