i read on avic411.com that the eclipse nav HU's are basically plug and play with the factory wiring harness and the tC steering wheel controls work with it without having to install anything else....is this true?

Sure was for me, only wire I had to run was to ground the parking brake wire!

I second that, direct plug and play including steering wheel controls, with my AVN6600. As jester pointed out only wire was the grounded parking brake. Can't beat that.

Yeah I think that was the most noticeable thing, the response time was greatly increased. Gotta like that.

Default AVN6610/AVN5435

Hey I have an 07 tC and I want to upgrade my radio. I was interested in these two eclipse models. Now when I checked circuit city it said that it will not fit in my car, but I have seen them installed.

Since the AVN6610 screen is 7" can this fit or do I need to get the AVN5435.

Also does anyone know where I can get a deal on a new one!! I don't want to spend $1500 - $2600 on the unit!!!

Thanx

I have the AVN6600 in my TC and it fits fine and I know for sure the AVN6610 fits just as well. It is the same size they just took the buttons off the side of the deck and moved them to the bottom and widened the screen .5". I know Soundomain.com had a great deal on the AVN6600 for under 1200 I think. But if you find one and need the update disc let me know.

Thanks for the info!!! What's the difference between the 6600 and the6610? Also would you charge me for the update disc? I'll go and check that website out!!

If anyone knows info on the AVN5495 pls let me know cause I wanted to compare the two.....also let me know of any websites that sell them under $1400 or just let me know of any deals of the unit and I'll see if I can work with that price. I know I don't want to pay reg price for this....

I'm on ancient version 1.0 for my AVN 2454. I'd like to get an update for my HU so that I can get some of the newer features (i.e. faster response, customizable start screen, more POIs, etc.). Do you guys know of anyone offering an update disc?

Thanks.
