yeah the z2 isnt that much diffrent from the z1. isnt that what they did with the N series and the D series (d1 and d2)?
and CXT no you cant change the colors of the buttons on the d2 unless you get the LED swapped.

its mainly cause the z1 has a built in HDD for music and nav, while the d3 uses a single drive for both its entertainment and nav features. i know its a little thing, but thats the general diffrence b/w the two decks. i already have an ipod, so buying the z1 would be a waste, do therefore i really like the d3

According to some product literature it will store the Nav info for a destination once you set it, allowing you to eject the nav DVD and use it for something else. The DVD slot is in the front of the unit, which is why the screen is a bit smaller. Drive is supposed to support MP3, AAC and DIVX on DVD. Wonder how long before someone gets a work-around for the DVD-playback safety features... =) iPod, bluetooth, and back-up cam add-ons available. The ultimate question is how's the SQ??? Let's hope Pioneer still remembers the primary function of a HU...
Oh yah, also supports XM traffic info for the person that asked.
