By law a nav has a bunch of features disabled if you are moving. By bypassing you are "hacking" the install so that everything works when the car is moving. In the eclipse units its as easy in grounding the handbrake wire. In the pioneer it has been getting harder and harder.

Haha..Seriously. If there's a new format/software/hardware out, someone's cracking it.

uhm... Pioneer knows people do it....

so instead of having people open up the headunit risking their lack of soldering skills...

they've been utilizing a switch behind a tamper seal since the d2 and n3s.. i don't see why they wouldn't put one for the d3.

sheesh alan... so behind....

Hey guys.
Bit of a noob question here, but I was just checking out Crutchfield's site and they claim that this won't fit in the tC. Any idea why it wouldn't?
The only thing I could see being a problem is the door, but I know some people on here have gotten a nav in there with the door still attached.

Well good question I believe they go off of OEM fitment also they prolly have yet to test fit sence unit just now shipping out to dealers so they are just going off the spec. That pioneer gives out so they may be correct they may be wrong. But in the long run anything can fit with a little modifcation! I hope it fits good I already ordered it!

Sorry for any bad grammer I'm on my phone bored at work! Lol

when the d1 and n2 first came out.. that was the first time they had the safety feature built into the software itself.. that made people scamble for a way to bypass it..

once it was figured out.. it required opening up the hedunit to perform a bit of soldering work...

let's say pioneer found themselves with quite a few broken units because of people that tried to do it failed... blah blah... whatever..

so when the d2 and n3 came out... they're like ehhh.. whatever... created that switch and tamper seal...

basically.. instead if having people break units and crap because they suck at soldering, they'd rather just have you void the warranty (which what happens when you break the seal)

from there, if you get into an accident because you're a dumba**, Pioneer can look at that seal and say... "ha! i'm not responsible.. so-and-so decided to do that."

no i did not order the adapter yet for the wheel i might do that though! , I also hope the D3 is easy to bypass with just a switch or something! one thing i would also really like to have on the D3 and i hope it works but i have a feeling it wont since it did not on the D1 and D@ is the AVG-VDP1 HERE a link to see it http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...089326,00.html

because i was real close to getting the AVH-P6800DVD so i hope i did not make a bad move but if it don't work with it that fine the D3 still looks real clean!
